About

Hi! I’m Katlynn, a Tampa Bay Teach for America AmeriCorps Member, currently teaching 8th grade English at Shields Middle School. I am seeking employment in publishing, communictions , or broadcast media. Outside of work, I’m continuing to write my YA sci-fi/dystopian novel to be sent on query soon.

While attending Hamilton College, I explored my passion for storytelling and interest in media through extracurriculars and internships. I was the chair of the Media Board, editor of WHCL’s magazine The Wattage, a contributor for The Spectator, and the assistant director for the mainstage production of The Underlying Chris. I also held internships with SiriusXM, Main Street Players, South Florida PBS, Suited & Booted Studios, and Austin Film Festival. Across all of these experiences, I solidified my interest in media and storytelling, while realizing that I am most successful in fast-paced, exciting workplaces in roles with varied day-to-day responsibilities.

In May 2025, I graduated with a B.A. in Creative Writing Honors with minors in Sociology and Theatre and was awarded the The Walter Pilkington Memorial Prize for my distinguished work in media and Phi Betta Kappa membership. None of this would’ve been possible without the support of the Posse Foundation.

If we share an interest in storytelling, advocacy, or broadcast media, I’m excited to connect with you. I am also exploring entry-level roles in publishing, journalism, and broadcast media.
